3rd Hamra Festival Concert, 29-30 June, 1996

Saturday night. My second appearance at the Hamra Festival. No photos survive from the previous year's concert. The shirt I am wearing was designed by the innovative Loulwa Abdel Baki, who sang with us in 1995.

Veteran "Dirbakkeh" player, the late Mousa Suleiman, appears on the right.

With no formal training, I have no business playing the "Oud", but I do it anyway.

Sunday noon. This band spelled FUN and the onlookers were enthralled. Either that or my fly was open.

Taking a guitar solo on my trusted old Strat.

A lively exchange with members of the audience.

Beirut's "Bill Evans" Akram Sultan, beloved drummer/guitarist Ghazi Abdel Baki, legendary bassist Jack Gregg, Blues master Samir Atiyyeh, film professor Sumaya Kubeisy (my sister), television producer Nada Sahhab, and smooth-voiced Katia Saleh (Tania's sister).
